| Mr. wyobmf, The Lathmaster zay7045 is a very good canadate for cnc'ing. I have been also admiring it!! Just to give you an idea, of what is to be done in order to cnc this mill, there is a web site that will answer most of the questions that you now have and will give you the questions that you be pondering tomorrow. Go to the industrial Hobbies web site. They convert Mills that are almost identical in fuction to the ZAY7045 (their model has More X axis travel because of a larger table. The owners name is Aaron, I never spoke to him, but from what I read, he is well liked and is willing to answer any questions concerning his product. http://www.industrialhobbies.com Now on their web site, they will show you how to convert your mill with their kits. Picture by picture you can see pretty much every step which is envolved for mounting the kit. Very educational site. Hope this helps Ron |

| I've actually had the pleasure of tlaking to Aaron before and he is great to deal with. Right now to my right there sits a CNC converted ZAY7045FG all set up and running. Well it would be running if my now past employer had spent money on a program which can output g-code. I'm not hand programming 5000+ lines of g-code by hand. Anyhow back on topic I would highly recommend the Industrial Hobbies site and Aaron as a great source for a CNC kit. James |

TPI on my european ZAY7045 is 3,00 mm/rotation for X and Y, 2.50 mm for Z. I measured the Z on the grip, assuming the 90 degrees gears from grip to lead screw is 1/1 Backlash on X and Y is 0.2mm, good for me. . |
