spindle / headstock for homemade cnc | |
I'm looking to buy a headstock spindle assembly; capeable of 10k rpm or higher. I want to use morse, r8, or some type of standard tooling system; that I can change tools using a lever or draw-bar. This is for use on my home-made CNC machine, that has a 14" x 10" work area; using 3/4" steel rails & linear bearings. This will be an upgrade from using a dremel.
I have looked at headstocks sold at littlemachineShop.com and also Sherline.

I have a 2-horse DC motor, I can put any type of pulley on - so I wont need a spindle motor.
WITH motors; the systems are priced around $300. The headstock-itself looks around $150; which is a suitable range for me.
Can anyone else give some advice any of those, or possibly reccomend something else around this same class & price range ?
