| A question for the x2 users I have a Sieg x1 which I have been somewhat happy with. I've got the extended Y base, and the extended table. I've also converted to a belt drive as well as other various modifications. But the racket this thing makes when cutting due to vibration and especially the undersized column is starting to get to me. Seriously, this thing makes more noise when cuttinug than the bridgeport i use at school. So my question is; Is the x2 any better? I see it has a much thicker column, and joint between head and column dovetails. |

| I dont know if its any better, but it still vibrates real good. I think a bigger step would be necessary to the x3 or something larger. The x3 is now available at grizzly.com Jon

| haven't noticed any major sources of noise or vibration except when flycutting at over 0.020" passes in al. the noise form the motor/gears is noisy - but a belt conversion would really help there. can't compare with the x1, but the mass of the x2 would be of some benefit. and of course as jfettig mentioned, the x3 is a now nice option. but it's over 300 lbs.
