Originally I thought I would outsmart Sieg and their domestic henchmen with a two pronged strategy: (1) I would lower my expectations and (2) I would buy the machine on sale.

Alas my strategy has failed. They've outsmarted me. They somehow knew that little things would nevertheless start to bother me and I would have no choice but to jump in...to start looking under rocks...

So today I started fighting back...I couldn't stand it anymore and I turned down the end of that annoying spindle dust cover and made it stay in place by way of friction. A baby step, yes, but it is only the beginning. And I may even send them a picture of the simply modified cover just to ruin their day...

In the meantime my dissatisfaction with the shortcomings of the Z axis grows like an aggressive cancer. Now I have to go get a 12-pack so I can properly dwell on the issue...
