anyone know what this is from, my cnc mill conversion

Hey all- testing image posting of my strange cnc mill project. Here are 3 of 8 axes I got from some who salvaged from a Ford plant in Mexico. I reconfigured them into an xyz machine. The motors have encoders which I don't know exactly what to do with.

Anyone see axes like this before???

How many wires are going to the motor itself?

It may be a stepper motor with a encoder, which if I am right it really doesnt need the encoder.

But if they are servo's then you will have to figure out the encoders.

Did the controler box come as part of the package?

It would help to have close up pics of all the hardware, cant really tell anything with what you posted. Brand & #'s of the motors, the boards in the controler & brand if known.

OK I will detail the system and post the info

Great! Thanks for your interest. I'm going to take closeups and list the info. You are right the motors are steppers with encoders and I don't know what to do with the encoder leads. 8 leads from the motor, and 8 from the encoder.

The metal box I got from a friend, and I put all those connectors and made the wiring and put the pins in and everything, what a pain but it's pretty heavy duty.

I do have the drivers that came with the parts originally. I will post more details tomorrow. Thanks for your interest!
