    Boxford 160TCL

    Hi All

Just Bought a Boxford 160 TCL with Half step Bipolar stepper drivers, Lenze spindle motor driver want to convert it to run on Mach 3

looking for a wiring diagram only can find 1 with Mitsubishi spindle motor driver

I want to try and keep as much as possible of original wiring & drivers

if possible just put in a breakout board with opto and speed control

if anybody got any Tips or wiring diagram and how to do the speed control any help would be greatly appreciated

    Thank You

    Alan

I converted an Orac lathe to Mach a couple of years ago but decided not to mix old with new except the 80v power supply as I percieved problems. I used a brakeout board frorm CNC4PC and Gecko drivers the support to iron out a few snags from both suppliers was very good. Motor speed is contolled by Mach using PWM, CNC4PC do an opto speed board. I found the more challangeing part was configureing the machine to Mach.
    Good Luck

Is you motor 3 phase running through a VFD? if so theres a 10v output from the brakout board that goes to the VFD. If not then i asumme you would controll the motor driver from one of the diver outputs on the breakout.
