    C35 & C6 Anyone?

    Is anyone running this combo?

If so, is the C6 plugged into outputs 5 (accessing pins 1,14,16,17) or output 6 (only pins 16 & 17).

Are you assigning 1 pin for direction and another for step?

I dont want to let the magic smoke out. I am trying to interface it with a Bardac 1600i (isolated DC drive).

Nowhere in Cnc4pc's documentation does it mention the C6 connecting to the output ports of the C35. It does show many of his other products connected (as examples).

I have followed Hoss' set up under C6 in Mach, just havent connected the C6 up to try it out.

Did you ever find an answer to this. I'm having a problem getting mine to work as well. I have power to the board and a cable run from the c35 output to the input of the c6. I'm confused about the pin assignments I need to put into mach. I get no output voltage from the c6 currently.

    c6 c35 mach troubles

Im also having troubles with C35 and C6 boards. Getting No output voltage,
Should be 0-10v but getting almost nothing .2 or so. I tried everything I could and also changes withing the vfd. I can get the spindle to fire up but only running at lower limit frequency which is set at 4.0 hrtz. When I use the spindle dro to increase speed it stays at the same frequency. Made changes to pins and a no go. C3 Index pulse card is working somewhat correctly and getting a tach within mach. Any help would be great.
    Any gurus out there

I'll bump this up. My C6 is still in the wrapper... I have the C35/controller working with the steppers, but I haven't started on the machine yet so I haven't started messing with the spindle control. The answer to this question may save me ( and others) some head banging
in order to learn... not save money.

    c35 c6

Yes I did get this combo running fairly well with, but have not had a chance to mount the stepper motors yet spindle works good with the c6 board and the vfd , one of the issues I had was a partial noise problem and solved that with ferrite cores on all power cords. If I can help in any way let me know. BTW my stepper motors are wired just not mounted they do work with the spindle in motion. Im within a few rpm within range of true tach reading so being in sync was half the battle.

Most of the battle was realizing the speed is motor rpm for calibration not pulley rpm.

In regards to noise, what are you using for a power supply? Do you use a "star ground"? Do you have your VE- tied in there if so? I just did this on 1 of my controllers that had given me fits in regards to noise. Now it seems I can disconnect shields, rip off the ferrites, decrease the debounce, run wires parallel with other wires and nothing makes it fault but true interuption of the opto switch. I had misunderstood what people had been telling me all along in regards to that 1 connection and in my mind it just seemed it set you up for a shock if you touched the case. I dont get shocked touching my case :-)

    c35

On my lathe I am using A 48v 12.5amp PS and am using 2 8056D digital stepper drives, BUT my mistake was on one of my mills I was having noise issues and not the c35/c6/8056d setup, that has had no issues but again i am not running fully yet until I machine the motor mounts and bearing supports. Just wanted to get all the electrical and spindle setup first. Machining is the easy part just not enough time in the day. My mill has the smooth stepper and that was causing noise problem for me the ferrites worked and I am pleased to have that machine back up and running without hickups. Its been running great for about 2 1/2 years and then boom it started to fault out with errors. I believe it was some of the shop fans that were causing the problem.

Regarding the VE- to the star ground? This is a connection from your power supply to a central "Star" ground point. This ground point can have your earth ground and your shields from steppers and or limit switches tied there also (in my case it does). It is supposedly one of the first items to help eliminate noise issues. Mine is running rock solid now.

I dont remember how I got it running and I repurposed the parts of that lathe for my G0704. Arturo walked me thru it. IIRC isnt there a separate power supply needed for that board?
