I bought metric mill because I live in Europe, but I still have replaced many inch bolts to metric ones to help repair jobs. All the parts except tooling plate I have made with Sherline mill. I made LED light over the spindle to help locating part. I use 8pcs white 20000mcd LEDs. I didn't have time to make new spindle so I use ready made ER-16 spindle with metric collets because sherline collect are not made for hard use in my opinion. All the cables are replaces to shielded ones and big cable is also pair shielded.

I planned to convert all my sherline axes to ballscrew because use machine quite much and I can get them cheap. Bigger project is to make new closed loop speed cotroller with digital electronics. But lets see do I have time to make these improvements because I have many other projects.

    Hey Jussi,

Awesome work. I also have the metric Shelrine and love it. What type of ballscrews are you thinking of using. I also removed the speed control from the mill like yours.
I would love to see more of your work. If your interested I have info on my Sherline here www.cuttingedgecnc.com
