Opinions? Grizzly G1005Z vs. Sieg X3 | | Hello everyone! I am fairly new to the machining scene, and am looking into a benchtop mill, but not one as small as the Micro mill or Mini mill by sieg (X1 and X2, I believe). I have found 2 that fit my size (and price) wants. The first is the Sieg X3. This mill looks nice. It's metric only from what I can tell, but since i can't decide between metric and imperial, it doesnt make a difference to me. The second is the grizzly G1005Z. It's a bit more than the Sieg X3, and I can't tell why. I can tell that the head swivels on the grizzly (a downside, IMO). X and Y axis travel is a major concern for me as well. I probably don't need more than 8x10, which they both seem to meet (which is also why the X1 and X2 won't do). Now I have come to the point where I am looking for opinions. Anyone own either of these that can give it a thumbs up/down? Another point to look at is CNC convertability. At some point I WILL convert the machine (not for a while, but I will) and want to make sure that it's possible with whatever machine I get.
Thank you,
