Looking for Ideas on Replacement Spindle.

Hi Guys

I am looking for a replacement spindle for a milling machine that I am converting to CNC control. This Mill is being built to do general machining in aluminum and some steel, nothing high speed about it. It is a bench type mill made out of cast iron. Here are some requirements for the spindle:

Spindle Cartridge will be belt driven from an Electric Motor.
2 hp maximum Motor power.
Maximum Rpm’s of spindle to be no more than 4K.
R8 Tooling.

Preferable spindle mounting to have flange around lower portion of spindle or possibly to have a square spindle body.

Interested in information or suggestions as to what could be used for a replacement spindle. Also interested in any good spindle suppliers that you have delt with.

I notice that most of the previous spindle topics have been related to higher speed spindles that would be used on a Router type machine.

There were some nice cartridge type spindles the last couple of weeks on e-bay.They sold for around $80 each and were belt driven and 20K spindle rpm capable.Wished I found them before I built the one I have

LOL those were mine, I sold the last one yesterday.
