Question Wolf single lip cutter grinder

    Hi all,
I'm new here but find this site full of great info!I have a Wolf single lip cutter grinder that was sent to me by my Nephew. It belonged to my Brother, who has passed. The problem I have is ,it came without a plug on the power chord.I looked inside with a mirror, and see that it is 220v.There are 4 wires on the cord.Red,black, blue and yellow.Does anyone here have one of these? If so,any idea which wires are line,or how to hook it up to a plug?I was really hoping to use it last week, and got it shipped to me here in Texas.Didn't expect it to be plugless.Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
    Thanks,John Stearns

    That could be 3 phase.

can you look at the connections on the motor, is there a box on the motor with 3 terminals which have links across pairs of them. Wiki 3 phase delta star motors.

I can't see the connectionsI had to use a mirror to even look at the info plate on it.The motor would be a real pain to get out, actually I can't really tell how they even got it in there.I would have to completely disassemble the rods that the toolholder and collet assembly are connected to.I can do that,if I have no other choice.
    Thanks,John

A quick look at the motor to see if it has start and run caps will tell you if it is three phase.

If it has two big bumps it has start caps and should be 220v or 440 or something like that.

    No caps is three phase.

Induction start, induction run motors are single phase and do not use caps so that is not a reliable assumption.
