    BF20/0704 mill - help needed.

I have know been googling, searching, asking questions and been all over the place.. So .. i gotta ask...

I bought the long version of the BF20 from Optimum, and want to fit it with ballscres.. i could go the expensive way and buy the screws from Optimum directly..

But instead i have a good relationship with a guy that can cut and thread scews for me if just know the damn measurements..

And i dont seem to be able to find them.. anywhere.. So i gotta ask anyone here that know the measurements for the three ballscews needed on the BF20!? Or can give a recommendation on the lengths?! I will probably just make the brackets and supports needed around the lengths afterwards..

He can cut ballscrews? Or he can cut threads? There is a difference.

I guess it depends on what conversion you are doing. I could tell you which screws I used and what the ends looked like but that would box you into creating mounts that worked with them.

Mrcodewiz, but by the fact that i'm a total n00b, and just want to get the ball rolling and the machine up and running i'm in for boxing me into corners and taking shortcuts..

And on the other hand your mounts looked great so i could probably have them made here in sweden if just have the dimensions on the ballscrews. =)

With that said, i'm doing a nema23 step motor conversion with a XL beltdrive. instead of the direct drive approach you are using, so some modifications are in order.. I will build as i go along and get parts.. Milling stuff from alu blocks is the least of my headache right now..
With ballscrews in place i will just build around that solving the problem...

But buying ballscrews for alot of money and not be sure what lengths i should use feels a bit sketchy.. So a "proven" way could be better in many cases.

Aluminium blocks for mounts are dirt cheap compared to the screws. I can afford to redo those. ;D
