    New Grizzly G0619

    Hey guys,

I think I have read so much I am going blind!! So much good information here from everyone!!!

Anyway, I have this new G0619 mill on the way from Grizzly and I want to CNC it right away. I need to purchase the electronics and the CNC Fusion kit. I am looking at the following and would appreciate any advice.

    From Keling:

    G540 4 axis package (one G540 + oneNEMA 34 KL34H295-43-8B, 906
    oz-in +Three NEMA 23 KL23H2100-35-4B (1/4” Dual shaft with a
    flat) 381 oz-in + one KL-600-48 48V/12.5A 115V /230V
    power supply): $630.95

I know Keling makes a 3 axis kit just for the X3 but this kit seems more substantial, and I want the 4th axis.

    From CNC Fusion:

Kit #4 or Deluxe. (If I can get away with kit #4 it would be nice to save the coin).

    My questions:

    1. Will it work with these components?
    2. How well will it work (subjective I know....)?
    3. Other recommendations?

I want to use the mill mostly for gun work (milling receivers such as AR15, 1911), boat stuff, and anything my wife makes me do for her in trade!

I have a Shark Pro CNC which uses NCPOD, NEMA 23 3 axis, Vectric software 3D Cut, Vcarve Pro v6, and Photo Vcarve. I figured I can reuse the Vectric software. So I am familiar with CNC, but this will be my first mill. So I will be a garage NOOB mill guy.

I will probably run EMC2 or Mach 3 ( Any recommendations appreciated ).

    Thanks everyone!

    Jimmy

Sounds like you are off to a good start!!!
I personally would spend the extra coin on the deluxe kit, which I did.
make sure you get the CR option with your kit from cncfusion.
I have had mine converted for a while now and am loving every minute of it, if I can affer a little advice it would be to spend some time on the ways and gibs especially the Z with a little work these can be very capable little mills
    good luck!

You got your mill yet? I'm curious how much the heaviest part weighs.

The SX3 breaks down into 5 main parts:

    1: Head. (Still connected to electronics tower}
    2: Column
    3: Saddle
    4:table
    5: Base.

The head/motor weighs the most. About 90 pounds.

I took mine apart, built the stand and then assembled it onto the stand: Base, Column, Saddle, Table. Crank down the head mount, put blocks on the table, Set the head on the blocks and install head to rotary mount. Quite manageble by one person.
