If you go to Lowe's they sell some 36" shop florecent lights for like $9
I've got an X3 that's in a dark corner of a basement, would like suggestions on how to light it. Not sure if I should find more lights for the ceiling, find some kind of snakelight to attach to the mill or find some small light I can mount under the head somehow (like some sewing machines). Any advice welcome.

One of these, magnetically clamped to front of head and angled down, will light your table quite nicely:

Too many PMs. Email me to my name plus At A O L dot com.
I attached my column to the wall for super stiffness and mounted a flouro on the stiffening strut.
Plus added picture of part of the cabinet and the pump
It is a BRICK WALL and until it shakes out the mortar, all will be well.
30 times stiffer than it was when freestanding.
I should do double brackets to stabilize the column sideways, but for the current job there is no twisting or sideways forces. Just 5KG down pressure with a worn out cutter, and 0.2KG with a new one.
Note the long strut for extended Z travel all the way to the top of the column. About 385mm if I remember correctly.

Super X3. 3600rpm. Sheridan 6"x24" Lathe + more. Three ways to fix things: The right way, the other way, and maybe your way, which is possibly a faster wrong way.
Thanks Crevice Reamer, if I can't find something better I might go with that.
Neil that's an interesting setup you have, is the mill still on a table? Is that a chimney or are all the walls brick? Looks like you must have used your X3 to drill into that wall.
