I think after reading a ton of posts the Lathemaster is my choice for a mill conversion. Has anyone recently had problems with their shoppng cart??? Tried tonight (before I change my mind) and had problems. It returned some cyber gibberish and told me to try again later@#$% Oh well, I'll get it done. Since I have had this reprieve, I'll take the opperatunity to ask if anyone had done this conversion before. I sure would appreciate any guidance or advice at this point. I've ordered Geckos and a break out board. Have some servo's but most likely will need stronger ones. I'm a hobby pistolsmith (custom 1911's) and would love to CNC some of the tedious work. Thanks in advance. Billyjack |

| I am in the process of converting mine. It is an IH mill, made from the same plant as Lathemaster's. I purchased IH's 3 axis conversion kit as well. I would check out industrialhobbies.com for assistance. He has a lot of pics at his website. You will get an idea of the size servos he is using for each axis there. Gook luck. Chris |

| Thanks for the info Chris. The equipment and conversion on IH looks great but it's a bit more than I can spend (and live to tell about it). I'm going to purchase the lathemaster and bits and piece it together just a little bit (purchase) at a time so as not to upset the budget! The information on the IH site is impressive and should be a great help as I tread into new waters. Have a good time and keep me posted on your progress. billyjack |
