I just purchased a Light Machines Spectra mill 0200 for $150. I am running Ubuntu and EMC2 (Both of them recently downloaded, so latest versions). I got the controller talking with the mill so it will jog in the correct directions, but there is a loud squeel or high pitched whine coming from the stepper motors when I activate EMC2. If I just open up EMC2 and have the controller box on, the stepper motors are rigid, but they don't squeel. If I hit the red button with the white x on it in the upper left corner then the squeeling starts. I hit the button immediately to the right of that and then I can manually jog the machine. The whole time that the machine is moving it will squeel until I hit the red button again, but then I can't run any G-code. It's driving me crazy. Do you guys have any hints as to how to fix this problem. I used this parallel port adapter to connect the computer to the controller.
