I need a little noob electrical help for my x2

I got a new motor for my mill, its from a habour freight model, and mines a craftex.
Of course the motor wires have to be different colors. The HF motor wires are green, white and black.

My craftex motors wires were yellow with a green strip, red and white I think, I can't remember exactly right now.

Two of the motor wires connect to the fwd and rev switch, then the last comes from the circuit board in the back. I'm presuming thats ground?
Then the wires off the fwd rev switch are positive ?

I dont want to just try and hook it up, and I haven't had any luck finding a wiring diagram.
So I was hoping some one could help me out. Thank you!

You cant just hook any motor to any motor controller. It has to be in spec for the motor.
Unless the motor has the same specs you will run into problems.
    Hf motor
    If the motor is DC
    White wire is Pos ( A+ )
    Black is Neg (A- )
Green Grounds out to the metal.
    If the motor is AC
    Black is the Hot wire.

If it has only two motor wires, then I would suspect it is a DC motor, If you have a fwd/rev switch, you cannot reverse a 1 phase AC motor with two leads.
If DC, either leads can be used, just that you may have to reverse them if the motor runs in the wrong direction.
The grounds can easily be identified by checking continuity to motor case.

Well I know I can't just hook up any motor, Its the same style x2 motor, 6000rpm, 350w, 120v, 3 wires.

Its just the wire colors are different between the two.

If you identify the ground the way I said, that leaves two wires, with AC it does not really matter which way around you connect these two, if it is a DC motor, the worst that will happen is it will run in reverse when you start it up, if so, just reverse the two motor conductors.
Although, if you have a reverser and only two conductors then it will not be a 1 phase AC motor, whether spilt phase or Universal.

The Harbor Freight mill does not HAVE a reversing switch. The green wire is ground, the white wire connects to a blue wire and then to the first terminal strip on the motor controller. The black wire connects to a brown wire and then to the second terminal position on the motor controller card.

Just connect your green to ground. Connect your black and white wires to the Craftex reversing switch. You have a 50% chance of getting it right the first time, but if the motor direction does not match the switch indication, just reverse the black/white connections.

LOL, I was wondering about that... I was going to check when I got home and see if I could find the reverse switch!

Which begs the question... good idea to add one?
