X1 Spindle control relay installation (belt drive)

    Hi,

I have converted my machine and have been running with manual spindle control but am going to go for mach control. I am running a standard motor and controller but have done a belt drive conversion. I was going try and install the relay into the on / off line on the back of the potentiometer.

Has anyone done this and does it work and does it affect the start up of the motor?

    Any help would be great!

I have put a little write up on my website at http://revdesign.co.uk/BeltDrive.html

I don't know about the X1 board but for my X2 board I just jumpered the on off sw. It's in this thread and it's been working perfect for a long time now and a lot of hours on it.
