I made 7 videos that day, the others were how to correct for problems
and get back into the program to finish the part.
Had a gcode error during the first run thru, a mysterious Mach 3 Reset during a run
and a clamp that was in the way.
It's easy to get back up and running without too much fuss.

    Finished the toolrack.
Excuse the pic quality, I forgot the camera so I had to use the webcam.
    The video has no audio.
It looks tiny compared to the original but thats good,
    smaller, cheaper, lighter and faster.

Alrighty then, this project is done, at least mechanically.
I have to edit the toolchange page to work with the new tool positions.
Spent about 5 hours taking off the old rack and mounting the new along
with the stepper and home switch.
Saved a little time reusing the stepper and home switch mounts from the 16T.
Drew up tidier versions for a new build.
Took a bunch of video to add to the DVD that shows how to set everything up
    in Mach from the start.
This smaller rack just has enough clearance between the tools to not have to remove my accessory bracket,
good news since it contains the C3 index components.
Made the video below to show the first tool change, it's a little faster than the 16T but similar.
Mach had a couple hickups during the B axis travel but it was fine after a reset.
The last pick shows my old 7x10 carcass on top of the 10x22.
Might have to make something out of that, maybe a CNC 5C.
    Never ends.

Looks good. I deffinatly like the the stepper mounted on top. Much cleaner looking. Reminds me of my design. Keep em coming.

There wasn't enough room to hide the motor behind the arm like with the big 16T rack.
Could have picked up a shorter motor to make it fit but on top is good as my 2nd choice.

What cutter do you use to cut your timing pulleys? I can't seem to find something similar.

A .078 endmill and 3/16 90 degree countersink to chamfer the edges.
I'm sure there is a cutter with the proper profile out there but these worked for me.
Several companies make hobs but I'm not doing it for big production.
Should follow hobbynuts videos and make my own hob but it won't work for the pulleys I make that have a flange on one side.

You can always get timing pulley stock from SDP/SI and finish them yourself if you have a bunch to make.
If you want to pick up some finished pulleys, I'll give up my source for pulleys
about half the cost as from SDP/SI.
    Econobelt.com.
They are a company of QTCgears.com that have good prices on gearing.

Nothing new with this ATC Jerry, it's done and ready to go.
I'll be putting it to use making some parts on the trunnion table soon.
cody over on my forum got me thinking about possibly adding an APL,
Automatic Parts Loader. I'd have to find a use for that first to justify making it.
A bar feeder on a CNC lathe I can see a use for, but I'd need some convincing on the APL.
I'll post a video of the ATC/trunnion over here.

Definitely got me thinking on the APL.
I'm going to rearrange some wiring for my MPG and open up 6 more
outputs and a few inputs on the BOB.
Should give me plenty to play around with to have some fun.
Figure I'll make a new wedge for the ATC that would incorporate the APL.
Might have to put the 16 Tool rack back to get a little more elbow room.
    Fun,fun,fun.

Hey hoss, any chance that this atc could work on the g0704? I know it's been quite a while since you built it but I really like the design of it and the simple mach 3 control really appeals to me.
    thanks, am

Sure thing, it bolts to the column like on the X2, I'll post more details later on about some upgrades I started on this the end of last year.
    No time right now.
