.0625 champher 90deg champher drill formular to find z
I have an outside contor that i need to champher to .0625 1/16th is there a formula or simpe methord to find the z- to drop my drill down to get my .0625 ???

i know i can use half the dim and half the deg tan to find the angle but how far z do i need to go to get to .0625 i know the cnc has a sub routine or program for this but ???

So you want a 1/16" wide, 1/16" tall chamfer? In that case, you need to go down 1/16" from where the tool touches the square edge of the work piece.
If you want the flat to be 1/16", then you'd need to divide that by sqrt(2), so about .044"
The math is easy on a 90 deg [included angle] chamfer, as the tan of 45 deg is 1.
