Gecko G540 is meant as a direct parallel interface. It's compatible with 3.3V outputs.
You need to reinstall mach3 and void the parallel port option, then go through the proper plug in

yes they lock, let out a hum. but wont budge while jogging

What stepper motors do you have? It looks like they're plugged straight into the G540, normally you need to wire up the DB9 connectors on the G540 yourself to have the proper pinout and have the current set resistors in them.
Good luck with that, probably won't work unless its specially designed to be compatible with Mach3...
If it's a UC100, it should work with Mach.
