Default KBIC 240D with treadmill motor keeps blowing armature fuse.

    Hello all.

    Long time lurker...first time posting.

I have a G0602 lathe that I converted to DC variable speed using the KBIC 240D and a treadmill motor. Everything works fine...speed goes as commanded etc.

I can cut small diam (around 1") brass or alum without too much problem BUT as soon as I try to load it up a bit, the armature fuse blows.

I am not sure if the Power resistor (.006) is correct for the motor. Please see pix.

The trimpots are at default settings.

Ventilation is good. Computer fan at rear of motor and electric fan pointing to rear of lathe.

I've got the same controller on my minilathe and has worked flawlessly over the years.

    Any suggestions/advice gratefully accepted.

    Regards

    Joe
