Just make sure it isnt the ER16 series. Sherline offers spindles in both. Do you need collets that cost 10x as much? I wouldnt unless I was doing something real small.
I picked up a used Servo Products CNC mill. Same spindle as their drills. Came with a 1/4" collet and want to get a 1/8". Apparently not all WW collets (or what people call WW collets) are the same. Servo products collets (and others) are 10x+ the cost of the Sherline collets but wanting to make sure they are really the same and fit before I order.

A lazy man does it twice.
Having owned a servo product mill myself, I can attest to the fat that they use special WW collets, and not a ER collet.
BTW, I have the manuals if you need them.
I know that my Servo Products mill uses WW collets and meant to include that but didn't. My bad.
Sherline makes adapters for WW collets as well as WW collets. They can supply the mill set up for ER collets but don't sell the ER collets - they say many companies make those and to get them from other suppliers.
But my question isn't which collet system I have. My question is if the Sherline WW collets are the same as Servo Products WW collets. Because apparently some companies have modified WW collet design and still call them the same thing. Not sure of this but that's what I have read.
I would really like to get a manual for the mill and will PM you.
WW is the taper as is ER. They are a standard in and of themselves. It shouldn't matter who makes them.

I agree that it shouldn't. But I am wanting some verification that they ARE the same - taper, thread, etc.
This thread is a little old but wanted to post that the the Sherline WW collet fits fine in case anyone else is wondering and looks up this thread. I ended up getting one hoping it would work and it did. A lot cheaper than the other sources.
