You can just buy the metal gears if you want to go the easy way.

A belt drive would give you more rpm useful for soft material cutting also worth considering.

Hi, I am new here and just purchased a sieg X2 iln machine, we do have a lathe and I m planning to make metal gear and replace the plastic gears of the mill.
Does anybody has a cross section or layout of the said gears? Thanks.

My mini mill is MT3, and from my location, it will be costly to ship the gears.
If you are interested there are free belt drive plans here you could adapt to your mt3 spindle, don't know if the top end is much different.

I have made the belt drive for the mini mill, the issue with us is the availability of the belt it self.
i just don't want to wait for the gears to break.
