Well guys, I am currently doing some weekend warrior duties.. But look forward to getting the Charter Oaks machine this week, Hoss got me turned onto the GMT vises and I ordered the GPV-615 Glacern Machine Tools - GPV-615 Premium Vise They were friendly and gave free shipping without too much of a fight. They claim they are 100% USA made, I am having mixed feelings on that and am curious if the salesman was feeding me a line. He stated that they have them forged in TX. I looked on their site and it does not say MADE IN THE USA in bold anywhere and I am curious about why they would not be a bit more proud? Anywho, I will try to make some more chips soon, thanks for the subscriptions and interest.

That's new, maybe things have changed but the old story from them was that the vises, etc. were sourced from china but finish ground to their specs here in the US.
Perhaps that's still the case for some of the vises, etc. so they don't make the "Made in USA" statement.
Still very good quality vises from a US company.

Thanks for the feedback Hoss. I think that the guy I spoke to may be misleading. I received the vise today, this may be the best packing job I have ever seen. It was very well done and had a nice letter with it and a parts diagram. The vise appears to be well made. I should receive the charter oaks mill tomorrow. The roadrunner trucking co that was hired for the delivery is not very accurate with the estimated delivery. I will be in touch. My DRO arrived Monday and a bunch of other tooling.
