Personally, I don't like SSRs for spindle control. I've had too many that have failed shorted, so the spindle was always on. Too dangerous for my tastes. Give me a good, reliable contactor any day.

If you are looking for a quality SSR Opto22 power type are pretty indestructible.
But the relay is safer if doing manual tool changes or used as E-Stop.
You could incorporate a manual lock-out for T.C.'s.?
