I was looking at that on the mini-lathe page. What would be the total cost after you buy the scales? Would be cheaper to buy a couple digital calipers and mount them on your lathe.?

Like I said thats alot of money to do it that way. considering the lathe only cost $300 dollars. Thats twice the cost of the lathe. In my own opionion Id buy 2 digital calipers from harbor freight for $20.00 dollar each and adapt them to the mini lathe. It will do the same thing for $40.00 dollars total and a little bit of time to adapt it to the lathe.

Default SURE THEY DO! You can do it man....

How about this. its 12 inch for $50.00 !?
    http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=47261

Then buy the $20.00 dollar one and you did it all for $70.00

They are also Fluid-resistant . Seems like the easyest and cheapest way to me.. Just my opionion.

I have seen people put these on there mills. One guy drilled a small hole thru the nose of each jaw on the caliper, he then screwed each jaw to a bracket he made that was fixed to the mill.

Seems to me you should be able to make it work this way?!
