I bought a MiniTec Mill/2 used, the machine works good but i have a
problem that seems to elude me.
The G-Code program is fine but the mill seems to move about an 1in.
further than its supposed. Not an exact measurement but a ballpark figure.
It does the same thing no matter what G-Code i try running.
Any ideas is to what the problem is?
I had the motor tuning set to 10000/4/8.
I changed it to 2000/10/20, and that seemed to solve the problem for the
small program i wrote by hand but not for the 3d contouring program i downloaded.
It still moves off the part, it's supposed to move ex. X0.992 but it moves in the negative direction and displays X0.992.
The origin is set to the lower left-hand corner.
Its really aggravating because i would love to start making chips.
Are you using Mach3? I just tuned the motors on my new X2 using the Mach3 setup guide, they go through the calculations you need to make and where to measure them. The guide would probably work for wincnc, too.
Well i dont know what i did but i guess i figured it out.
It's set 2000 steps per, i might have changed it between parts and wasn't thinking but so far it's working for the parts i been testing.
Now i need to invest in buying a Mach3 license.
I wish there was someone that lived in the St.Louis area to trade tips, and tricks with. I e-mailed about a St.louis group and havent got a reply yet.
