Not even close, the thread on cnczone about global warming, pollution and other such anything to gripe about topics has nearly 8000.
Just seems a thread where the trolls and arguers are given free reign.

Got a nema 34 to test with the 5th axis, 1290oz/in.
It's 8 wire so I can try it both series and parallel to see which works best.
Even in parallel detuned to 806 oz/in with the 6050 driver it should perk things up a bit.

I have a question for you Hoss,
I want to R&D RC parts , cars air planes & boats. Do you think a CNCed G0704 will do what im looking to do?
I mostly will be doing aluminum stock .

I got the print and programs done for the n34 mount.
Made it down into the basement for the first time in months, that's where I got the motor.
Pulled a bunch of parts off the x2 too like the tooling plate that'll find a new home on the g0704.
Gonna have the console bought up too and remodel it.
Being lazy, don't feel like finishing the one I started.

The 2.5:1 ratio on the 5th axis does help the 570 stepper.
The speed was the same but it did it with the weight of the power drawbar on there this time.

Funny me too, I almost got sucked into the void. So you think that was a sacrificial crop to lure them away? Brilliant.

see the same half dozen arguing back and forth, back and forth, back and forth.
That is a good place for them I agree.

With that 5 axis you could carve a pumpkin for Halloween.

Great job can't wait to see some parts getting made. You still using the ATC?

    Thanks fellas!
Made the nema 34 mount and set it up today.
Didn't have the locks on and the 5th didn't cause any vibration at all, was only using a 3/16 endmill though.
Snugged the worm up as tight as I dare to get the backlash down as best as possible, will check it tomorrow.
Tried the nema 34 first in parallel then series mode.
Ran the same speed in parallel as the 570's best (it's harder to rotate now though)
Got a 20% speed improvement in series mode.
Will try a lower pulley ratio again, running 1:1 now.
The tool would be seeing something along the lines of 150 IPM right now.
