I have 4 of the 5056s driving 3 of the 280oz motors (2 on the X axis, one on the Y) and a 425 on the Z. I have two of the Kehling 48V 12A PS driging them. One of them might have been enough but I didn't like the idea of pushing a PS near its current limits. Each PS supplies one of the X 5056s since they will be turning at the same time. |

| I have a 1/2-10 5 start screw on the X-axis so it moves 1/2" per turn. I've had the x-axis up to 250 ipm, but it seems to be skipping steps at anything above 175 ipm. To be honest, I'm running the machine at 75 ipm to make sure I don't lose any steps. I'd rather wait a little longer for it to cut the parts out then destroy them, or have to stop the program, rezero it and start over. As I use it more, I'll try raising this speed and see if it has any ill effects. |
