    motor speed

    hi
i have a kl23h2100-30-4bm motor with a 4030 driver and i was wondering what my top speed (rpm) would be with a 24 volt power supply and what it would be with a 36 volt while still having torque? thanks

That's almost impossible to answer. there a a ton of variables involved, and you haven't provided any. First, you'd need an accurate torque curve for the motors using that drive at those voltages. How are you driving the machine? What's the efficiency of the drive system? How much weight are you moving? How fast do you want to accelerate? And many more.

I can't say what your speed will be, but I CAN say:

Voltage = power. Power = speed. That internally wired Bipolar Parallel motor has a best power voltage of 76V. So if you were powering it with 76V and full step, you would get the top speed available. Twenty four Volts is only 32% of best power. 36V is only 47% of best power. But that's not all. Your driver does not have mid band resonance compensation and that will cause the motor to stall long before top speed. Any micro stepping will cut top speed even more.

Now if you dumped the 4030s and went with a G540 and 48V, you would definitely get a lot more speed.

If you use the G201 with a 72V PSU, Those motors will FLY. Even with the 24V PSU, the Geckos should give you more speed than 4030.
