Looks like it is a nice package and I am glad to see that the motors are available seperatly for guys like me who have g251's and just need motors.

The max voltage of 63 is close to the g540 max of 50v and should run real well.

Have you done any testing with these motors and the g540 to see how well this package works?
The price increase for the kit of $80+ (over the last package deal) is a little troubling, but I guess everything goes up in price.

Hi Mike
1: You can get the motor here
http://www.kelinginc.net/NEMA23Motor.html

2: We have change the power supply from 48Vdc/7.3A to 48Vdc/12.5A. So the price changed $80 from the last package
Package is here

Thanks for the update.
One of the things I really like about the zone is that you get fast response to questions and they are out in the open, for everyone to see.

I also like the notation about the motors being designed for the g540. They will also then work as well for the g250/251's as they are the same drives.

Mike.

That's a nice package. For something like the X2 though, (Which doesn't need 387s to power the axes) you could use three 270s for A, X, Y,

http://www.kelinginc.net/KL23H276-28-4B.pdf

and a 387 for Z.

http://www.kelinginc.net/KL23H284-35-4B.pdf

That would allow use of the KL-350-48 48V 7.3A PSU,

and cut the total cost to $526.

I appreciate that you have to sell what you have in stock, but the 85V 495 is not nearly as good a match for the 50V G540 as the 65V 387 is. The 382 is a 75V motor, so is a little better.

For something like an X2, you could use the 4 wire. 60V KL23H276-28-4B 270s for the X and Y and the KL23H2100-30-4B 382 for the Z, (Of course you will have to adjust for the 3/8" shaft) and those should work really well.

The inductance of a stepper motor determines its best operating voltage. We need to run that motor wired Bipolar Parallel, as near to its Best Voltage as possible, to get maximum power out of it.

A small, fast motor is better than a large slow one. Ideally, we would run a 50 Volt motor at 50V, but right now there are NO perfect motors for the G540. So we need to get as close as we can, and at this time a 60 or 65V motor is about as close as we can get.

Of course, the motors in the kit will RUN with the G540--They just will not perform as well as the 387s that are out of stock. Keling "Kits" are just arbitrary groupings. The group of parts costs the same as if you bought them individually. You can mix and match and make up your OWN kit. Just make sure that what you want is in stock.

If you have some time, I would wait for the 387s to come back in stock.
