Okay... I want to do this as painlessly as possible (I have been known to pick up the wrong end of a soldering iron...). Here's that I'm thinking... Looking at the Hoss site, he recommends: Hoss Heavy Duty Digital - This is package will give you the most torqueThis looks similar to ITEM A on CNC Controller | Stepper Motor Controller - am I correct? Does this include a power supply, etc? I'll be buying the motors listed in the Hoss list. To wit, will all I need to do is just "hook up computer, plug in motors, configure software" and be done? I see the words "ready to plug and use" but I'm sort of in "confirm" mode as of late... ITEM B looks like the same thing, only enhanced with some more functions to be used later? Works for me. Will this work? I'm planning on using three NEMA 23 motors (x, y, and w for a rotary table) and a 34 for the z. ITEM B doesn't have a price listed. Figuring on probably ordering a Smoothstepper setup too, mostly for the USB option... |

| That web page is extremely confusing (including, as you pointed out, the fact that item B does not have a price listed). Do you intend to purchase their enclosure or make your own? It does not appear that kit A includes the power supply (kit B lists one explicitly, while kit A does not). You may want to refer to Keling's new site at Automation Technologies Inc. | Stepper Motors, Servo Motors, CNC Stepper Motors, Stepper Drivers, CNC Kits, Stepper Kits Automation Technology Inc It looks like the 4-axis kit A is shown at: 4 Axis KL-5056D-48 CNC Stepper Motor Driver Controller | | Automation Technology Inc Automation Technology Inc They currently show that the individual KL-5056D drivers are on sale, however they are shown as "product not in stock": KL-5056D Digital Stepper Driver | | Automation Technology Inc Automation Technology Inc If you want a C10 breakout board, you will probably have to explicitly specify it. The kits on that page that you linked merely refer to "1 PC Breakout Board for 6 axis, Isolated signal" but does not state that it is a C10. Keling does sell the C10, but you should probably make sure that's what you're getting if you order the kit. Keling also apparently sells the SmoothStepper (both the USB model and the newer ethernet model). |

| A lot of that is why I'm asking the questions here... It looks like Keling/Automation Tech has gone from an HTML-coded web page to a PHP-coded ecommerce program, which in the long run is going to make their life easier. In the short run, they're going to have problems where people look for one site, and get confused. I'll check their new site for stuff. But hey, Keling, AT folks - I'm not an electronics guru - hold my hand online for some of this? You know what I want - what do I need? Okay, Keling/Whoever folks... Mistake on your part here - You've got this $1500+ controller, and you have it bundled with several motors - what if those are not the motors which your clients want to use? Clients like me, who are going to want 3x23, and 1x34 motors... And a bit stouter motors, if I am reading stuff correctly... Either sell "upgrades" to the package, or different packages, or just sell the box by itself... Now, me, I want box, wires, motors, and a coupla cold beers for the "Let's test it" phase....
