Default Gecko G540 vs. KL-4030 drivers (and break out board)

    Hi all,
I was looking at the 4 axis kits using 270oz/in motors.

This would be for a Sieg X2 conversion.

One kit has the Gecko G540 and the other has KL-4030 drivers and break out board.

I was wondering what the functional differences are between the two drivers?

Does the Gecko G540 actually do something more than the other drivers or is only a matter of quality ?
Are there functions that the G540 supports that the others don't?

The G540 can run at higher voltages(48V vs 36V), which gives you about 30% more speed.
The G540 has analog speed control for a spindle.
I think the G540 is probably a little better than the 4030.

Not really a direct answer to your question, but I am very happy with my DM542T stepper drivers I got from Stepper Online through Amazon. They are very smooth, have mid-band resonance dampening, 50V capability, 4.2A capability, and are only about $34 each. I think they are great for the price. These drivers are made for Stepper Online by Leadshine according to their ad. All I can tell you is they work great. I am running mine at 48V, but only 3.0A but they have performed flawlessly.
