hole becomes polygon after saving

i have posted a thread in the mastercam section thinking that the problem was occuring when importing a file to mastercam (x3) but after reopenning the same file (ipt or step) in inventor the curve do not appear as cuve but as a serie of small line, the problem is that mastercam then base its toolpath on those small line and not a curve so i am not getting hole but a polygon

What version of Inventor?

What file format are you importing?

DXF for 2D CAM or IGES for 3D CAM works best for me.

ataxy, how do you get rid of the polygon problem circles? I too design in Inventor and still have the same problem.

That's only for visualization purposes. The circle it's still a circle.
I'll post the solution (settings) so you can see the circle as a circle later, I just want to let you know guys that is just a viewing setting, that's it.

Cad software is all about polygons viewing. The more polygons you have the more overloaded the software will be if you are working with millions of elements. That's why the option of fewer polygons (for viewing purposes) is better when you work with huge amount of data.
