I have a Certificate in Auto CAD 2000, 2d, and an A.S. Degree, Mech. Eng. with SolidWorks 2008. How much different than SolidWorks is it. I've been told, once you learn 3d operations, it can be easy to work any other type software. Extrude is extrude is extrude, if you catch my drift. |

| I've played with Inventor, Alibre, Solidworks, and one other that I can't recall that had a free version a few years ago. They all work basically the same way.

| I use inventor at work and Solidworks at home. If you know solidworks well and you use proper modeling techniques, you should be albe to learn it in very little time. I have noticed that using the fillet command is much more challenging on complex parts in Inventor, but aside from that, they are about equal. NEATman |
