Model or paper space?

Do you dimeansion in Paper space or model space?

All dimensions should be done in Model space.

Some types of dim's wont work at all in Paper space!

Try to do an angular Dim in ps.

I do all my dim's in paper space, I can't see the reason to do it any other way. Angular dim work just fine, you just have to exsplode it.

I also do all mine in paperspace. If you ever read the AutoCAD newsgroup, this comes up all the time and is usually split down the middle.

If my boss puts 30 hours into a set of plans and then handed to me to do dims I would not want the explode command to be my first step ie) the step before the one out the door!

That is only done when dia radius, when you dim in paper space using 2002 w/ associative dim you only need one dim style. The view port can be any scale and the dim will automaticaly readjust the scale. Not to meansion the fact to work on the model, is much cleaner to see with out all those dims in the way. I do architectural drafting and I find it super easy to make modifications keeping the seperate.

When you zoom to an XP scale in a viewport how does the dimension know the size? Do you change the measurement scale factor?

Exploding dimensions is the last thing I'd ever do for me.

How do dimension a 3D dwg in viewports?

Assoc. dims are the best.....the only next best thing is driving dimensions, like is SolidWorks, Inventor or MDT.

When you use Assoc. dims you don't need to worry about scales because the dims will follow the scale of the view port. But that would work for ps and ms. The guy's I work with are still using different scales for dim, while I use assoc. dims.
