    deleating duplicates

    hi guys,

is there a way to deleate duplicate lines in Acad Lt 2005?
we get dwg's and dxf files in to work with lines on top of partial lines on top of.... you get the idea.
our lathe cad system crashes when it tries to profile over them, so we have to deleate the line an have a look underneath, then redraw the line/arc and so on around the profile.
there must be an easier way!

    thanks

I believe you can only do that manually, that's the only way I know how.

I've had that same problem with waterjet profiles from customers all the time...
I'm with CNCadmin....manually...pain in the butt
There was a feature to remove any unneccessary entities, but it didn't always work...sometimes making things worse!
Like you said, delete til all gone and then redraw line feature

There is a lisp routine / express tool called OVERKILL that will do this.
I doubt it's in Acad Lt 2005, though.

If you can post the file, I might be able to run overkill on it for you.

Also, Deadwood, believe it or not I haven't forgotten your belt challenge, I've just been swamped. Fingers crossed maybe I'll get to it today.

Here's another method that may work.
The command is called Boundary, you can type BO.
Note that it creates polylines, so you may need to explode the objects at the end.

LT does not have Lisp support.

    Hi ger21,

Just for my own FYI, can LT run the express tools?
I never can recall what is and is not included in LT.

Either way I think the OVERKILL tool was not added to the Express tools unitil after 2005, but I'm guessing.

    Thanks
