    autocad to gcode

    Can anybody tell me why autocad .dxf drawing that has single line text like isocp in it shows up in a preview in mach 2 but when converted into gcode does not show up in the program.

    Yes because the text is not a line or arc or spline/poly line.

    I thought that in mach 2 that a single text format is what is wanted for gcode tranlation

    I dont get this ttf and .txt font stuff, i figured that if plotted text in the location that i wanted in autocad would translate in mach 2

    Most .dxf converters can't read text objects. The only way to do it is to explode the text in AutoCAD first. However, you'll need a newer version that has the Express tools with the text explode tool.

    Precisely. The text must be converted into a geometric entities. (Line, Point, Circle, Spline, Poly Line, Etc.) Annotations such as Notes, Dimensions, etc. are not machinable in their native format.
