My experience with my dealers, is they provide some training included when we purchase the software, Contact them and see what they say.

Check the Autodesk website http://Autodesk.com they have training materials to purchase. Better yet check out your Local Community College, they probably have some classes you could take. At least you could find out what instructional books they are using.

    Hi,
I found this a couple of weeks ago. Very good site.
Goes from the basics to 3D.

    auto cad 2008 tutorial

I can tell you to start simple. Iines, circles, rectangles, arcs. Try and get a book with the autocad commands, Quick reference. It is very complex to learn yourself.

I spent 4 years with it and finally took two college classes. The first one beginning Autocad and 2D and the 2nd one 3d and complex 3D.

I took a quick look at the site bones recommended and there is a lot there also.

One command I used a lot was set PDmode = 3 and then the point command. This puts a x wherever you define the points x,y. Put the points on a different layer so that you can turn them off when needed. The point is also called a Node.

    Start simple and work on.
