I'm having problems at work with my Inventor 8. I'm a CNC programmer and use it to design fixtures and the like. The design group used to use it, but they have switched over to Solidworks, and they've kinda forgotten the setup type issues that I'm sure is causing my problem, ie: I can't insert text into my idw file. I can't do it by selecting the text tool or even by adding text to an existing dimension.
I've looked at the configuration menus and I don't see anything wrong, but I'm new to Inventor, just been using it on an existing installation. One of the engineers did look at it and didn't see anything wrong. It did work at one time. I'm not sure what changed.
Anyone got any ideas about what to check? I even did an re-install over itself to repair any problems, but that did nothing

...a Microsoft Patch took out the text, Autodesk has patches, although ver 8 may not be supported, you'll need to replace the riched20.dll in the /bin folder

I checked at the Autodesk site and you're right, V8 is not supported. I found a riched20.dll on the web and put it in the bin folder but that didn't work. Could you PM me the dll please?
