Buy me a Beer?

Hit the "print screen button" on your keyboard and than open up paint shop or alike and than hit paste. That is one way to do it.

I save the file in DXF format and then import it into Coral Draw. You will need to increase the line thickness in Coral Draw before you export it as a Bmp. jpg, etc. I do this all the time when I need to insert CAD drawings into my kit documentation.

Since you are using AutoCAD (as it is a dwg file), go in to the printer section and define a print to screen (XGA) printer (which sends it to a file), then just select it. It will make a 1280x1024 BMP of what ever you plot. Then open it in Photoshop, and do a save-as JPG.

I do this all the time to get rendered 3D drawings out of AutoCAD and into JPGs so I can email the to customers.

I use a little screen capture program called 5 Clicks to save screen shots. It has several formats to save in, jpg, or jpeg, png, bmp.

The png's are nice and small for transmitting.

This is a shareware program and cost me $20. to register it. It has a 30 day free trial.

I like to use wmfout to create a Windows metafile. This can then be inserted into Word or Excel and then pasted into a JPG picture

If you set wmfbkgnd=off, before issuing the wmfout command, the black background in not output into the file.

Hey guys:

Thanks for your interest!

From where I'm sitting the "print screen" button is the way to go.
(allways wondered what that was for) (Next to the "any" key)

Next best from where I sit Is the Corel Draw Option

I know release 8 handles .dxf but

I'm running release 10 and see no provision for dxf files.
Is this just a quirck of my install or is corel 10 able to handle dxf files?

Set up a new printer from Plotter Manager. The is a format called Raster File Formats.....then select "Independent JPEG Group JFIF (JPEG Compression)" or "MS-Winidosw BMP (Uncompressed DIB)"

Then you print your dwg select the JPG or BMP printer style, file path and resolution. Very easy to do.

Reinstall your corel copy and select dxf, plt and hpgl from the import / export file extension section. That should set you up for all popular vector / cad setups.

I run 9, 10 and 11 - stick with 9 or 10 as long as you can. 11 will put you in sugar shock with the gummy bear interface and complete lack of vector handling improvements.
