I just tried this out, and it seems to work great. A bargain at only $20. I know a lot of people were looking for something like this a while back. Try it, you'll like it.

And then there is the absolutly free DeskEngrave from Deskam
This little program will let you use any trutype font (including wingdings, ect) and will generate dxf or G-code for the test you enter. You can even put the text on an arc. And it's FREE.

Elefont, works in Windows. Produces triangulated DXF.
I use the freeware program "Stickfont" from NCPlot:
NCPlot - Stick Font
Allows you to create either a gcode or dxf file and comes with several fonts.

Desk Engrave is nice, but its strictly single line. I do all my text in CamBam now.
