Copy what you want and paste it into a new drawing and save that as your .dxf
Unless you have Express Tools, you can't use the native text. You might want to try this, it's cheap. http://www.freefirestudio.com/outline.htm
I am using AutoCAD 2000 for my designs and exporting them as DXF files to import into Mach 3. I am somewhat green on AutoCAD. How can I save (or export) just a single layer as a DXF file? Also, I would like to use the text function for some engraving. When exported to Mach 3 it does not show up. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Vince

Hey as to the text, check out the text wizard that comes with Mach3. I works real well.

I did not realize that was in Mach 3, thanks for the heads up.

Or - on the command line, type 'dxfout'. In the dialog box, go to options and click the box next to "select objects". Name the file, select the entities you want and you just wrote a DXF without interrupting your drawing.

Consistency is a good thing....unless you're consistently an idiot.
I tried using that macro in autocad but everytime I do I get a runtime error? I have drawn up about 20 circles to cut in autocad and it does cut them in mach 3 but I am still having problems with it cutting all the OD first but I need the ID or there is just no way to cut them with out the circles flying off the machine. Do you think Simple CNC for $35 would be better?
