I have watched some tutorials from youtube but thats about all I know of cad softwares.
So I need to do drawings that contain measures of round parts that can be machined with a lathe. Mostly flat but also shaft types. What is the easiest way to do these drawings or should I ask where to start? The criterias for the parts are that there should be a picture from top, a picture of cross-section and a 3D picture would also be nice.
Is it possible to just draw a quater of whole part or half of cross-section part and "mirror" it to full half for top picture, and somehow revolve it so a 3D picture can be made?
Thanks. |
Yes it is possible to draw a half of the cross section of a part and revolve it around an axis to generate a 3d part. Basically what you do is you create a part file (.ipt) and on the sketch that comes up you will draw out the profile that you want and then you use the revolve tool and you can revolve that profile around an axis to produce a 3d part |
