Inventor to Freemill

Exported from Inventor to an stl file and opened into Freemill. It looks good other than it changes the dimensions and won't let me size the part back to the intended dimension. Anyone know what I might be doing wrong?

Is it an issue with inches and millimeters?

The STL file format doesn't denote the type of units used, so if your part is in inches but the program's set to mm, it will come out too small (or vice versa and it's too big).

.
Not sure if this is what you're looking for, but I had the same problem going Inventor > STL > MeshCAM.
.
When you export the STL file, look at the bottom of the dialog box for the "Options. . ." button. It will open another dialog box allowing you to save your STL file in other units.
.
Hope this helps. . .
