| If you'r modeling with solids, just draw a box the size of the glass. You then need to assign a transparent(mostly) material to it so it is transparent when you render. Keep in mind that it will NOT be transparent while you're modeling. Only when it is rendered.

| so instead of putting a hole in the wall for a window, i need to make a layer for a solid material that is clear, and draw the window as a solid? I'm kind of self taught here, so its a slow process ![]() thank you vm for the help! |

| It depends on how realistic you want it to look. You could just leave a hole, but by using a solid there you can add transparency, reflection and refraction to make it look more realistic. I don't think AutoCAD has reflection and refraction, though. But you can always export to other renderers that do.

| You have to assign a material to the solid, and make the material transparent. Under View>Materials. Open the material library from there, and import a material. Then click the modify button and you can add transparency. You need to render the objects to see transparency (raytrace)
