Turn off hardware video acceleration in the options.
Trying to load AutoCAD 2000 LT into second computer(older one, Pent 3, W2000 OS).
Software all in, launch program, open drawing, all good so far.
Select command, move cursor to page.... GONE? No crosshair, cant see
what i'm shooting at. Can put one construction line on page, then cant see anything to add additional lines.
Have set background/crosshair to contrasting colours and as far as i can make out, "SNAP" setting should still be at default.
Aside from those two possibilities, cannot locate any other info regarding this issue. Any suggestions?
PS; did have software installed on newer computer(2core vista OS), all worked fine but would not recognise existing(and fully operational) printer as plotting device.
Have also had AutoCAD 2007 installed on newer computer, all worked perfectly, alas it was only on loan for trial, and crashed after a week anyway.

G'day ger21,
when you say "options", do you mean "options" under "tools" in AutoCAD?![]()
yes. It should be in there somewhere, but you'll have to look around for it. Possibly under "display", if you have that option.

The closest thing i can find is on "user preferences" tab, subheading "windows standard behavior" has a check box for "windows standard accelerator keys".
checked/unchecked no change. have been right through, checking/unchecking any options that may be remotely associated with mouse, pointer, cursor and also tried updating mouse driver.
no luck yet.
Thank you for taking the time, much appreciated.

Open AutoCAD
Right click on command line and select options, or just type options into command line.
On the new window, select the System Tab.
The first box says 3D performance, click the button inside the box labeled: Performance Settings.
From the new window, select the button that says manual tune.
From the newest window, the top check box says: Enable Hardware Accelleration.
If this is unchecked, check the button at the botton of the window that says: reset recommended values.
If it is checked, uncheck it and see if that helps.
No "3D Performance" on system tab in options. does that indicate something missing from the program? loading of software gone bad?
LT probably doesn't have that setting, because it doesn't do 3D.

It probably just means that this feature is one on my newer version of AutoCAD and not on your older version of autocad. Sorry.
