General CAD/CNC Question

Howdy!

Hope everyone is well.

I am not sure if this is the correct forum, but I am told this issue is a software issue, so this is my best guess as to where this question should be asked...

My company is requesting our CNC machine do an unusual operation. We have a Komo VR510 Mach II, and we used Router CIM 2002 with AutoCAD CAM Companion, with FANUC Router CIM 2004 to manually program it.

As of now, when our router completes cutting a G-Code program, the head lifts out of the material, and the sheet of material moves forward and docks itself to be offloaded by personnel.

We are wanting to change that.

When the cut is complete, we want the tool to lift out of the machine, there to be a 1-minute delay, and then the material dock itself to the REAR of the machine to be offloaded.

I thought perhaps this operation would be a hard setting on the machine itself, but some I have asked said that such a operation will need to be defined in all the G-Code program files themselves, hence my reason for putting this in the CAD forum.

Here's is a link to a Google doc reflecting our current G-Code...

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1...thkey=CM7-0KYP

Does anyone have any ideas?

Buy me a Beer?

Never used a Komo, but it looks to me like it might be done via machine parameters. Not sure what the G8 does, but everything else in the g-code looks standard.

I program a Morbidelli, and the command to unload the parts is in the g-code, but the actual unloading parameters are stored in the machine.

A call to Komo should get you an answer quickly.

at a guess, your 1 minute delay is for operator intervention(swarf clearing/tool and/or component check etc.). Changing machine parameter settings to perform at each EOP(end of program) may not be what you want after this job/project is finished-if you want it to perform the same for all your runs then the changes can be made thru the control parameters, if not a sub-routine with M00 for the hold cycle is way better/safer than G04 X6000, that is 60 sec. dwell cycle in position, and then continue processing programmed movement-don't know your machine or parameter settings, sorry but hope it helps-kman

The company I work for has 2 VR510 Mach 2's and a VR620 Mach 3. Was wondering why you would want to unload from the rear since the full table length doesn't go that far back?
In any case, creating a second home position and have that set into the machine post should do the trick. Get those numbers by manually driving the machine as far back as possible until it hits the prox switch then jog it back out an inch or so. Jot those numbers down and place in the post should give you the desired effect. Add the dwell code in and you should be right there.
Good luck and let us know how things progress.
