| Quick question to those who know more about AutoCad then me. How do you convert a line that is a spline to a Pline so I can join them. I need to do this so I can make a 3D model. I have read the help file but well that is just confusing me more. Thanks |

| OK, Perhaps the spline was not generated by ACAD? Try "explode", zoom in on an end line segment (there may be a LOT of them, depending on the spline). From Modify pick "Polyline" and select an end line segment. Answer "yes" to "do you want to turn it into a polyline?", then enter "J" for "join" and select all the segments with a "crossing box" selection. That should give you a multi-segment polyline you can join. Mariss |

| If you're going to extrude it, you don't have to join them together, you can make them a region and use that. Gerry

| Very interesting. It seems you may have used a 3D-polyline; a very nasty and hard to near-impossible to edit thing unless you really need 3D capability. Use an ordinary polyline in the future for 2D stuff. The only way I was able to unravel it was to save your .dwg file as an R12 .dxf file, then re-open it and save it as an ACAD2000 .dwg file. It was then possible to explode everything into lines, convert one segment to a polyline, then join all the rest. Because the former splines didn't exactly join your polylines, I had to use move endpoint to endpoint Osnap. The result is the attached .dwg file. Hope that helps. I will draw up your part properly next. It should be a much smaller file. Mariss |
